Security news without the fear-selling
About Secured News
No hype, no vendor money, no leaked personal data. Just the facts you need to protect your people.
Who we are
Secured News was founded in 2019 by a former incident responder and two investigative reporters who were tired of security coverage that was either breathless or unreadable.
We are reader-funded and independent. We do not take sponsorship from security vendors, and we never publish leaked personal data.
Editorial standards
Security reporting can put people at risk when it is careless. These are the rules we hold ourselves to.
Every breach claim is confirmed by at least two independent sources or by the affected organization. Claims made only on leak sites are reported as claims, never as fact.
When our reporting uncovers an unpatched vulnerability, we notify the vendor first and agree a reasonable window before publishing technical detail.
We do not download, publish or link to stolen personal data. Where we verify a leak, we work with the minimum sample needed and delete it afterwards.
Mistakes are corrected openly at the top of the story with the date and what changed. Send corrections to the tips page and an editor will reply within one business day.
We are funded by reader memberships. Security vendors cannot buy coverage, placement or newsletter slots.
