UK Proposes 14-Year Sentences for Subsea Cable Sabotage
The White Paper would replace the Submarine Telegraph Act 1885, create a new "security compromise" offence covering physical damage and cyber interference, and impose new duties on cable operators. A 12-week consultation closes on January 14, 2027.
